OBS-BUOY 400 is a light, simple wave buoy: switch it on, put it in the water and it starts logging. Motion sensors and an electronic compass measure the directional wave spectrum and all common bulk wave parameters, plus sea surface temperature.
The buoy runs on replaceable batteries, so it suits sites with little sunlight and cellular coverage. Data goes over cellular to the Data Portal and to an SD card. Biofouling maintenance is every 3 to 6 months.
