The only routine upkeep on an AQ2 sensor is abrading its face. The auto abrader does it for you: it gives the face a short abrasion every day and runs on its own from six AA batteries for up to a year before they need changing.

It unlocks the full value of calibration-free sensing where the sensor is hard to reach, such as sea cages, buoys and remote monitoring stations. The abrader pad is user replaceable, and custom mounting is available on request. This model is rated to 200 m.
