BoatFeeder is the app the boat owner uses on the pier. It finds nearby pedestals over Bluetooth on its own. The user picks a pedestal, sees which power sockets and water taps are available, switches on the one needed and can switch it off again from the phone.
The app holds a virtual wallet for the keys the marina issues. One user can store several keys, set alarm thresholds for each and view the top-up and consumption history by pedestal. Credit is topped up online by card, so there is no need to visit the marina office.
At the pedestal the app works without an internet connection. From home the boat owner sees the status over the internet and gets notifications when credit runs low, when a circuit breaker trips or when the anti-fraud block cuts in. Others can follow in guest mode, and keys can carry different roles such as user, manager and installer.
