The DTU is a simple link between an AQ2 sensor and a computer. The sensor plugs into the DTU and the DTU into the computer's USB port, which also powers the sensor. In the free anb_utils software you then configure the sensor, download its stored data as CSV and update firmware.

It is ideal for lab testing and for preparing sensors for remote deployments where direct communication is not possible. Over RS-232 the sensor can be about 15 m from the DTU, further with suitable cabling. One DTU can configure several sensors in turn.

USB supplies about 5 V, which can reduce temperature accuracy. The DTU is therefore meant for setup and configuration, while deployments should use a supply of 6 V or more.
