On stainless steel OPTOD sensors the DODISK sensing disc is built into the strainer and both are replaced together. The disc lasts about 2 years on average. After a change the disc must be rehydrated and the sensor calibrated.
The strainer can be stored for 2 years in the black pouch it is supplied in.
